NO on Austin Quarry

Back in 2016, Samantha got involved with a local community organization to fight against a proposed quarry near her hometown. This proposed quarry, named Austin Quarry, would have a detrimental effect on the water supply, traffic, road quality, and air quality of her hometown and the general surrounding area. Samantha joined NO on Austin Quarry with the Madera Oversight Coalition at the age of 14 because she knew it was her duty to do everything she could to stop the approval of the quarry. Samantha protested, helped fundraise and run informational meetings, and more along with her community. In the end, the Madera County Board of Supervisors approved Austin Quarry. The Madera Oversight Coalition continues to fight against the quarry in court.
